You know those things and events in life that are associated with a certain smell? Maybe like pine tree, warm sugar cookies, and gingerbread, with Christmas? Well one of the smells that tells my body Fall is here is an open fire, misty air, and the smell of a muzzleloader rifle. When I was growing up some of my favorite Fall memories were going to, and participating in Civil and Revolutionary war reenactments. I love history, sewing, and dressing up, so of course this was right up my alley. I didn't like talking in public or interacting with strangers so it also helped my get out of my comfort zone and learn some new skills. I'm very much hoping to start doing some more reenactments as a family. But for now, attending a few and getting the boy's familiar with it all is on the list of 'to-dos'.
Don't be confused, there are two different time periods in this post...er three. And please don't give me grief about no boys in gray, we were in the North and it was just a Union encampment.
What are the smells that tell you it's Fall?
