Easter '14

Had a lovely Easter with our family this year. The weather was amazing! (Dare I say almost too hot?)
I'm not complaining about heat after that winter though!
Christmas is so special because Jesus came to earth to save us. But what if He had sinned during His life? What if  He decided the cross and all the suffering just wasn't something He was willing to go though? What if He didn't rise from the dead? I feel hopeless thinking about it.
But He didn't sin, He was perfect, even though He was tempted in all the ways were are. He was the only one qualified to take our sins upon Him. He was willing to die for us! He went through an unbelievable and indescribable amount of pain for us. And He rose again! Yes, Easter is a most beautiful holiday.

Can I just say it's near to impossible to take family pictures with a two year old boy!
And equally impossible to keep shoes on a 8 month old.
We love 'em though.

 

The Boys

Time flies by so fast when you have a newborn! Scotty was already like three weeks old before we got a 'real' picture of the boys together. It' shameful for me as a photographer to admit this, but it's the truth.
After church one day I told Tim we need to get one, or at least try. If any of you have a two year old boy you know how taking pictures can be. It's pretty much candid or nothing in our house. But we tried.
I was listening to someone teach about newborn photography the other day and in so many words she said.... "this is the pose you do for a four year old sibling and a newborn, this one a three year can do, and two year old, yeah good luck." That made me feel much better.

After Evin ran away I took advantage of the amazing light and got some of my own with my new son.
He is such and sweetheart and the smiley-est little guy!

We are Family

Since when am I married and have two kids? It's still surreal to think about. I'm loving it though.
Yes, my dark circles are getting darker from lack of sleep and I don't have enough time to wash my hair every day, but I know all too well this will past and we'll be on to the next stage of life. I'm working on being all there in the moment for my boys, I'll never get this time back.

28 Weeks

I took advantage of our beautiful family vacation to do some portraits.  I always wanted to do a maternity shoot on a dock during sunset, so I was pretty happy when this was able to happen.
